Job Summary

The Systems Administrator will manage and tune in-house computer systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements

Job Responsibilities

* Install, configure, monitor, administer, and maintain servers and other operational infrastructure components.
* Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as reviewing and testing system backups. Install, configure, and maintain server systems and underlying hosting platforms. Patch and upgrade server hardware, firmware, and software.
* Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
* Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
* Support application development teams throughout project lifecycle.
* Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services.
* Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans and maintain current knowledge of plan executables.
* Coordinate with end users and technical staff to implement and maintain systems that utilize industry best practices to meet business objectives, while maintaining the security and integrity of the data, system, and network
* Provide guidance to less experienced personnel.
* Prepare, coordinate and support user training and documentation and provide technical assistance for post-implementation support issues.
* Provide service desk and technical support to internal users.
* Perform routine to moderately complex problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications.
* Maintain timely and accurate helpdesk records using the ticket management system.
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Protect and ensure confidentiality of information contained within managed systems.
* Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours datacenter support.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, mathematics, information technology, computer sciences, a related field, or equivalent experience
* 5 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year of directly related experience in systems administration.
* Experience with the following technologies:
o Azure based solutions.
o VMWare ESXi & VSAN 7.0 or greater
o Hybrid cloud based solutions.
o Entra ID and SSO including technologies such as OIDC, OAUTH, & SAML
o M365, including all areas of the suite
o Active Directory
o Windows Server platform
* Experience in current principles and practices of system administration
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
* Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management, other IT professionals and end-users
* Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
* Is open and responsive to change and demonstrates a commitment to the process of continuous improvement by identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers
